Create a domain forwarder

To set up a domain forwarder, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into your Cpanel account and navigate to the DOMAINS section and click on the Redirects option 
  2. Choose the type of redirect you would like to use for your domain: 

    • Permanent (301): this redirect will update the visitors’ bookmarks and direct search engines to the new site.
    • Temporary (302): it will redirect the visitor or search engine, but will not update the bookmark and the search engine will continue to index to the original page.
  3. From a drop-down menu, choose the domain name you would like to redirect:
  4. Enter the full URL of the page your domain will be redirecting to in the Redirects to field. 
  5. Select if you want your domain to redirect with www. or not: 

    • Only redirect with www.: The redirect will work if only visitors are using www. as a part of the URL. 
    • Redirect with or without www.: The redirect will work regardless of using www. as a part of the URL or not.
    • Do Not Redirect www.: The redirect will not work if visitors are using www. as a part of the URL.
  6. Check Wild Card Redirect if you would like all files in the current directory to be redirected to the same files names in the new directory. 

    Example: If example.com redirects to example-test.com, then: 

    • with Wild Card Redirect: example.com/test/ redirects to example-test.com/test/ without
    • without Wild Card Redirect: example.com/test/ redirects to example-test.com
  7. Click on the Add button in order to create the redirect. 
HOW TO CHANGE THE NAMESERVERS OF YOUR DOMAIN FROM CLIENT AREA TO AKOLAGTECH NAMESERVER
 
1. Once you logged in, click on Domains -> My Domains
 
2. After that, click on Manage Button icon against your domain name for which you want to change the nameservers as seen below.

Note: Please make sure that the domain is unlocked, under managing domain click on change the registrar locked status or from the side menu click on “Registrar lock”
Click on “Disable Register Lock”, remember to lock it back after the nameserver changes are finished
 
3. Click on the Nameservers tab, change the name server to the following:
Nameserver 1: ns01.akolag.net
Nameserver 2: ns02.akolag.net
4. Click on Change Nameservers to apply the changes

If you have multiple email addresses for your business, it’s a good practice to forward all email messages to one account. So if you have sales@example.com,service@example.com, and support@example.com email addresses, all of them can be sent to one account such as customers@example.com. Setting up email forwarders can be done through cPanel or through your Webmail login page.

  1. Log into the cPanel.
  2. Click Email, then Forwarders in the Mail section.
  3. Click Add Domain Forwarder.
  4. Select the Domain you want to forward email from, in the drop-down box. Then, enter the domain you want to forward to. …
  5. Click Add Domain Forwarder.
  6. In the Address to Forward text box, enter the address for which you wish to forward incoming email.
  7. Select the desired domain from the menu.
  8. Select one of the following options:
    • Forward to email address — Select this option to forward incoming email to another address. Enter the address to which you wish to forward email in the text box.
    • Discard and send an error to the sender (at SMTP time) — Select this option to discard incoming email and automatically send a failure notice to the senderEnter the desired failure message in the Failure Message text box.
    • Click Advanced Options to view the following additional options:
      • Forward to a system account — Select this option to forward incoming email to a system user. Enter the desired username in the text box.

  9. Click Add Forwarder.
Add Domain Forwarder

To add a domain forwarder, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Add Domain Forwarder.
  2. Enter the domain to which you want to forward email.
  3. Click Add Domain Forwarder.
Delete a domain forwarder

To remove a domain forwarder, click Delete next to the domain forwarder that you wish to remove, and then click Delete Domain Forwarder to confirm.

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR DOMAIN FROM CURRENT PROVIDER TO AKOLAGTECH

FROM OTHER PROVIDER PLATFORM
 
1. Once you logged in, click on Domains -> My Domains
 
2. After that, click on Manage Button icon against your domain name for which you want to transfer the domain.
Note: Please make sure that the domain is unlocked, under managing domain click on change the registrar locked status or from the side menu click on “Registrar lock”
Click on “Disable Register Lock”, remember to lock it back after the transfer is finished
 
3. Click on the transfer domain tab or click on Get EPP code
4. An email will be sent to the owner of the domain with the EPP code, wait few minutes for the email to arrive 
“The EPP Code request was successful! It has been sent to the registrant email address for your domain. “

Get EPP/Auth Code

The EPP Code is basically a password for a domain name. It is a security measure, ensuring that only the domain name owner can transfer a domain name. You will need it if you are wanting to transfer the domain to another registrar. 

FROM AKOLAGTECH PLATFORM

1. Start the transfer process
a. Click on “Hosting” menu from akolagtech’s main website (www.akolagtech.com). Click on “Transfer” from the search window or click here to get there
b. If you already have an account with AkolagTech, once you logged in, click on Domains from the second top menu -> Transfer Domains to Us

2. Enter the domain name you are trying to transfer to us

3. Enter the EPP/Auth code 

4. Click on “I am not a robot” checkbox

5. Click on add to cart to check out the transfer

6. Follow the steps to check out the item and payment

7. This should complete the domain transfer and should check your email for the new order

How to move your web or email hosting Cpanel from existing provider to AkolagTech 

Note: These steps are related to Cpanel https://cpanel.com hosting platform

Taking a backup of your existing Cpanel hosting account

  • Confirm that your hosting provider uses Cpanel platform 
  • Log into your Cpanel hosting account
  • Take a backup of your Cpanel account by following these steps below:
    • (cPanel >> Home >> Files >> Backup Wizard)
    • The Backup Wizard interface allows you to back up all or part of your website, or to restore it from the most recent backup
  • To create a full backup file, perform the following steps:
    • From the main Backup Wizard interface, click Back Up. The Full or Partial Backup section of the interface will appear.
    • Click Full Backup. The Download section of the interface will appear.
    • Select one of the following destinations from the Backup Destination menu:
    • Home Directory — Select this option to save the backup file on the server.
    • Note: File is saved on your Cpanel home directory, once the file has been saved you can download the compressed file once it’s finished
    • If you click on the ‘Download’ button, the backup will be downloaded from your local machine.
    • You will need this downloaded file to be uploaded to your new web hosting Cpanel (AkolagTech)
    • Perform one of the following actions to configure notifications for this backup file:
    • To receive a notification when the backup process finishes, enter your email address in the Email Address text box.
    • To disable notifications, select the Do not send email notification of backup completion checkbox.

How to transfer or upload your existing Cpanel hosting file to our (akolagtech hosting) platform?

  • Note: Need to first sign up for our web hosting plan before you can upload files
  • Log into your new AkolagTech Cpanel hosting account
  • Upload your existing Cpanel backup to your New Cpanel account(AkolagTech) by following these steps below:
  • (cPanel >> Home >> Files >>File Manager )
    • From the top menu click of your new hosting File Manager click on Upload >> Select file and select the newly downloaded backup file from your existing hosting account.
    • You should see the uploaded file in your new account (AkolagTech) home directory.
    • Contact AkolagTech Support team or email or open a ticket for our tech personnel to restore the uploaded backup to your new account.
    • Once the backup has been restored, we will notify you via email or phone call.

We will send automated email to client about the domain renewer. Please follow the steps to renew the domain. 
Also the domain can be renew once you login to your account at Login.
